July 2008
Watch out LA, Denzil is on his way. Denzil finished 3rd in the 2008 AKC Eukanuba Agility Invitational for Cavaliers. Only the top five dogs of each breed get invited to this show, so this is a hugh accomplishment and honor. Congratulations also go out to all the other Cavaliers and handlers that also made the cut.

So LA make room for another Denzil.
Denzil and Demi's daughter Summer earned her first title, C-NAJ, at the second CKCSC-USA CNE Agility trial. This was Summer's first agility trial and she earned her C-NAJ title in three trials. Marlee also earned her C-AX and C-AXJ, so it was a great weekend. Big Congratulations go out to Dianne and Tiki who started exhibiting in Agility this past spring. Tiki earned his AKC Novice Jumpers title with ease, this boy is making us very proud. His speed and reading direction is fabulous. Keep an eye on this team.
Also our big boy, Persy celebrated his 16th birthday on July 15th. Persy is doing fabulous for his age, still chasing the Blackridge belgians off the deck and always wanting to lend a paw when someone is cooking dinner.
I would like also to send out Congratulations to Andrea Samuels and her outstanding Papillion Chase, who has made the AKC Eukanuba Agility Invitational for the third year. That is amazing.
May 2008
05/12/08 - Well after a three day weekend that started off very rainy and muddy up at FDR Park at the PCNUT Agility trial, Denzil earned his MACH2. It was a fabulous Mother's Day present this weekend. He is a man "On Fire" earning his second MACH in only 8 months and that includes two months winter down time. I would like to thank Gail G's husband George who made some delicious food for the party we had on Sunday, which was topped off with some sinfully scrumptious brownies from Jeanne K.. I would also like to thank everyone for the encourgements and support we are always receiving as well as the congratulations. Special thanks go out to Dianne Jamison and Andrea Samuels who have really helped me learn how to reduce yardage on a course to get faster times. What wonderful friends I have. On another note, I will like to annouce to everyone that Denzil also sired the first (we think) Cavalier King Charles Spaniel MACH x MACH breeding to MACH Crestrails Bold Encounter RN Website address is http://mayalou.net/puppies.aspx . Mom and pups are doing fabulous out in Washington State with Karen Maizey. Beth was one of the top five cavaliers to competed in the 2007 AKC Agility Invitational in Long Beach CA last year. Currently Denzil is ranked 3rd for the 2008 AKC Agility Invitational, but the cutoff date for qualification is June 30th and there are a few cavaliers riding his tail to earn a spot, so we will not know if he earned a spot until the end of June.
Well, now it's time for us to sit back and take care of Marlee who is due next week with the second Daisylane litter, which is also sired by Denzil. He's one busy man. May the course be with you all.
05/05/08 - Denzil had an awesome weekend in Staten Island qualifying 5 out of six runs with three 4th placements and earning 70 MACH points. Yes the man is "On Fire", pulling double digits now in the JWW courses. He only needs 28 points to finish MACH2. I hope everyone who can will join us to cheer him on up at PCNUT (FDR Park, Yorktown Heights, NY) this coming weekend. We will be there all three days Friday/Saturday and Sunday. If you can't make it, I hope to hear you cheering from afar.
April 2008
Well, Daisylane has had a fabulous April. Denzil earned 133 points and 4 double Qs, placing 2nd twice. He only needs 90 points now for his MACH2. Demi has only been singling in her runs each day, so she still needs 6 double Qs, but only 49 points for her MACH. It seems she likes to turn on the speed outside, consistently running a 4.3 yps jumpers course, her fastest was a 4.8 yps on one of Scott Stock steeple chase courses. She even had a fantastic open-fast class run, but mom stepped on the line and disqualified us. Denzil had an awesome open-fast run also, mom did not step on the line, but Denzil upon turning to take the tunnel from the a-frame decided it was more fun to chase the paper that went blowing across the ring. Marlee took it slow and finished her MX and MXJ and will now be enjoying her maternity leave, even though she is still running around like a maniac with Summer, especially in this nice spring weather we have been having. Every day I come home to snow in my living room, I envision two crazy little girls tearing up another stuffed toy. I was very proud of Denzil and Marlee who were two out of three 12 inches dogs to qualify in a standard course designed by judge Jeff Ipser. It was a course that kept every handler on their toes, very technical but since a min-pin and two B&T cavaliers were the only three dogs to qualify out of over 20+ dogs, I guess the BLACK N TANS RULED THE COURSE.
Daisylane Galaxy Déjà vu aka Tiki débuted in Novice JWW at our local Long Island Agility trials with his owner Dianne. It was a thrill to see them run and have a great time. Tiki earned two Novice JWW qualifications placing first on both runs. What a fantastic job by both Dianne and Tiki, the Daisylane team is so proud of them.
March 2008
The Dynamic Duo, Denzil and Demi, arrived safely in Tulsa at the AKC Agility Nationals on March 27th. We were so glad to see so many familiar faces, it made us feel like it was just another agility trial. Denzil blasted off the start line qualifying in both ISC classes on Friday, earning a cumulative 9th place ranking in the 12 inch class of 79 dogs. Demi was a little distracted with the pigeons flying around and landing in the ring. She did not know who to watch, me or the air. Her ruby coat was a great camouflage in the Oklahoma red dirt , her hunting instincts were really trying to take over, but she managed to keep it together to qualify in the jumpers ISC course, after that it just all fell apart.. So it was all left up to Denzil, who qualified in two of the three National runs. He gave every run his best, with only a slipped footing in the weave poles in the third run, which caused him to miss a weave pole.
While the Dynamic Duo were in Tulsa, Marlee, who was GLOWING, took Winners Bitch at Sand-n-Sea KC show with handler Debbie Yeager.
January 2008
The Daisylane paws had a fabulous year, earning a total of 22 titles in Agility, Obedience and Rally. Denzil and Demi both made the requirements for the AKC National Agility Championship which will be held in Tulsa, Oklahoma in March. This was a great accomplishment, especially with two dogs. The Wystar Grams are still dancing around with excitement with two of their pups going to the big show.
The AKC reports several rankings that I am very proud to announce. The agility ranking for the entire year of 2007 show Denzil as ranked 3rd and Demi as ranked 12th. This ranking takes only the qualifications earned in 2007. There is also the Invitational Agility ranking list which ranks the dog's qualifications between July 1st and June 30th. The top five agility dogs of each breed are invited to the Eukanuba Agility Invitational each year. After six months Denzil holds the 3rd place ranking and Demi moved up the line to 7th place. Keep posted, this "Dynamic Duo" may also be going to the Invitational.
Marlee debuted in agility this past fall and has shown exceptional talent and speed in the agility ring, quickly earning her NA, NAJ, OA, OAJ, AX and AXJ in nineteen trials. She is having lots of fun and being such a good girl, she is a joy to run, when she is not spinning around in circles. Marlee also started off the 2008 year taking Winners with a 4-point cross-over major. That is quite a accomplishment to beat the boys out.
Well, with the time off this winter, the Daisylane paws have been resting and learning new skills, even little Summer, who does not believe paws were meant to touch the ground. I am told Tiki is tackling his weave poles as if he is a football player as well as being a quick little running back. We may see Tiki showing off his talents in agility this Spring.
Also, there might be some more Daisylane paws this Spring, so if you are interested, give us a call.
October 2007
Well, it's been a month since Denzil earned his MACH and he has already accumulated 149 points and 9 double Qs. He is a MAN ON FIRE!
Marlee started her agility career with gusto. She achieved her Novice Agility and Novice Jumpers in three runs with multiple first placements. She continued her outstanding performance by also completing her Open Agility and Open Jumpers title. She is having so much fun and really enjoys running.
September 2007
09/16/07… Announcing CH MACH Denzil. He did it and it only took 10 months from first to last MACH point. He is one AMAZING boy. To top it off, he also earned double Q #27, so I guess it's on to MACH2……… 09/10/07… Well, it's almost here. Denzil earned 32 points this weekend and another double Q, that's 26 dQs. He now only needs 16 points for his MACH. Hopefully, Princeton will be our lucky show. Demi was also a big winner this weekend, earning her MX and out-running Denzil for a first placement in the Novice fast class. Also, BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Andrea and Chase who earned their MACH3 this weekend. This is a fabulous send-off for their trip to Norway with the AKC World Agility Team. Go USA. 09/04/07… We just returned from 3 days up in beautiful Granby Massachusetts and Denzil earned 30 MACH points and another Double Q. He now has 25 double Qs and 702 MACH points. So only 48 more points to go, most likely it will be at the Princeton trials which will be held Sept. 15 & 16 in Willingboro NJ. I will keep everyone posted on how he does down at the Tail Blazers trials in Kennett Square PA. Thanks everyone for your support and good wishes. This will be a great accomplishment earned from lots of hard work and a great partnership. This little man is amazing……10 months Excellent to MACH!
July 2007
07/30/07… This boy is on a mission. He blew the course away this weekend up in Vermont at the Green Mountain Golden Retriever Agility trial, qualifying 5 out of 6 runs and earning 2 more double Qs and 75 POINTS!!! It was amazing, on a course designed and judged by Chris Miele, he ran his best time ever betting standard course time by 18 seconds and earning 1st PLACE to double his MACH points to 36. He finished the day off by also qualifying in the jumpers course and earning an additional 7 points. He now has 648 MACH points and 23 double qualifications. So it's only 102 more points to go for the title. It was a fabulous weekend and it was great to be with good friends who were very supportive. We each helped to video each other and I can't wait to see those videos. CONGRATS to ALL!
07/09/07… Denzil and Demi had a EXTRAORDINARY weekend up in New Hampshire at the Yankee Golden Retriever Agility
